WARREN (WWJ) - Police have cleared the scene at a Macomb County business that was forced to evacuate on Saturday morning after workers uncovered a bomb threat in the facility.
Warren Police Commissioner Willian Dwyer told WWJ that officers responded to Dana Incorporated, located at 28201 Van Dyke Ave. between 12 Mile and Martin, after employees reported finding an intimidating message at the facility around 9 a.m. on August 5.
According to Dwyer, a threat was discovered written on a towel that said a bomb was going to go off at 9:45 a.m.
Police quickly evacuated the building and executed an extensive search -- but authorities turned up empty-handed.
Dwyer said the facility was given the all-clear shortly after police determined there was no threat. No injures were reported.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. Dwyer said they do not currently know where the message came from and who is behind it at this time.
