(WWJ) The FBI is involved in a hunt for a wanted man in metro Detroit.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is asking for tips from the public following a bank robbery in Pontiac on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

At around 4:30 p.m., OCSO deputies were dispatched to the PNC bank, located at 44330 Woodward Ave., near Martin Luther King Blvd. S, on a report that the branch had just been robbed.

The sheriff's office said the suspect presented a note to the teller demanding money, the teller gave him around $1,500, and the robber fled.

The man drove away in a small dark-colored SUV — possibly a Chevy Equinox — and was last seen headed west on MLK Blvd.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was caught on the bank's security camera, and officials are hoping someone will recognize him.

The FBI was notified, OCSO said, and has joined the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information about this crime can call the sheriff's office at 248-858-4950.
