ROYAL OAK TWP., Mich. (WWJ) – A Ferndale man has been formally charged after allegedly pistol-whipping his ex-girlfriend over the weekend.

Michigan State Police say 41-year-old Jeffrey Pippen was arraigned Tuesday on a number of charges, including two counts of felonious assault.

Police said Monday they received a call from the victim of a domestic dispute Saturday night, who said her ex-boyfriend had hit her with his gun.

As she fled his car, Pippen allegedly fired two shots at her in the area of Wyoming Avenue and 8 Mile Road. The woman was not hit by gunfire, but her car was hit, police said.

She did suffer an injury from being hit by the gun, MSP said.
