WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) – More than three dozen students across metro Detroit have been charged with making threats at their schools in the two weeks since the Oxford High School shooting.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced charges against four more students on Tuesday for alleged threats at four different schools on Sunday and Monday.

The students charged include:
• 11-year-old boy at Hilbert Middle School in Redford
• 13-year-old boy at Noble Middle School in Detroit
• 13-year-old girl at Renton Junior High School in New Boston
• 16-year-old boy at Redford Union High School in Redford.

All students were charged with one count of threat to commit an act of violence against school, school employees or students. The student at Noble Middle School has also been charged with one count of malicious use of a telecommunications device.

"Juveniles do not receive adult sentences. Upon conviction, the judge will fashion a sentence considering the crime committed, and the rehabilitation of the juvenile offender," the prosecutor's office said.

The latest charges come as schools all across metro Detroit have dealt with so-called “copycat” threats in the wake of the Oxford shooting that claimed the lives of four students.

Worthy told WWJ last week her office is taking all threats "very seriously" and there could be severe consequences for those who make threats.

“Whenever you make such a threat, it’s not fun, it’s not funny, it’s not a game,” Worthy told WWJ.

There have been more than 13 students charged in Oakland County.
