OXFORD TWP. (WWJ) - The gun store that sold the weapon used in the Oxford High School mass shooting was robbed overnight.

Overnight Tuesday, police have confirmed to WWJ Newsradio 950, someone drove a truck into Acme Shooting Goods, on S. Lapeer Road in Oxford Township, and stole several firearms.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, an intrusion alarm went off at the business at around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, responding deputies found a hole in the wall of the building. After further investigation, they then discovered that multiple rifles had been stolen.

There have been no arrests in the case, and there is no description of any suspects at this time.

Acme was the store where Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley's father, James Crumbley, bought the gun that the 15-year-old would use to kill four of his fellow students, and wound six more students and a teacher on November 30, 2021.

Ethan Crumbley confessed that he picked out the 9mm Sig Sauer handgun, and gave his father money to go to Acme and buy it.

Acme is currently being sued by Matthew and Mary Mueller, whose 14-year-old son was injured in the shooting.

The Muellers allege negligence on the part of Acme, stating that the store ignored one or more red flags that the sale was unlawful.

Ethan Crumbley, pleaded guilty on Oct. 24, 2022, to all 24 felony charges related to the shooting, including four counts of first-degree murder and one count of terrorism. He awaits a hearing this summer to decide whether he can face a life-without-parole sentence.

The shooter's parents remain jailed, awaiting trial on involuntary manslaughter charges in the case.
