
HARPER WOODS, Mich. (WWJ) – City officials in Harper Woods are warning residents of a group of people claiming the water system is contaminated.
The scammers are pretending to be officials with Wayne County of Wayne State University and claim their group can help to install water filters, then show up at the home.
Officials say there’s nothing wrong with the city’s water and people should be aware of the scammers.
Residents should not provide these callers with their addresses or any other personal information.
Officials are also reminding residents that all city employees are required to wear identification.
