DETROIT (WWJ) – Back in 2007, a 14-year-old Davontae Sanford confessed to a quadruple murder on Detroit’s east side.
The only problem, he was not the killer.
Sanford maintained his innocence for nearly a decade, and finally, he was vindicated when a high-ranking Detroit police officer was found to have been lying.
On this edition of The Daily J, WWJ’s Zach Clark dove into the decade-long saga and found out how Sanford’s story led to a $7.5-million settlement with the city.
