INKSTER (WWJ) A young Inkster woman opened her front door to a hail of gunfire.
Michigan State Police said the victim, 22, answered the front door of the house to an “unknown” man standing on her porch with a pistol. He shot her multiple times.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Friday on Lovett Ave. near the area of Middlebelt and Michigan.
The man ran away from the scene, police said.
Police have not released any further details about the shooting, including the suspect’s relationship to the victim, if any, and a possible motive.
The woman is hospitalized in critical condition. Her name has not been released.
The suspect remains on the run.
