DETROIT (WWJ) – JoJo’s Shake Bar, a popular Chicago-based specialty ice cream bar known for its boozy concoctions and bar food, is reportedly coming to the District Detroit.
JoJo’s Shake Bar is going to set up shop at 88 W. Columbia Street, on the same block as the Fox Theatre, according to a report from Crain’s Detroit Business.
There are currently two locations in Chicago and one in the suburb of Naperville. No JoJo’s is bringing its enticing menu to the Motor City.
The menu includes elaborate milkshakes and floats – like the Love Shake, which is a red velvet raspberry shake with sugar cookie, cheesecake, raspberry drizzle, chocolate strawberry and chocolate pretzel – as well as traditional bar food like wings, burgers, sandwiches and fries.

Shakes run for about $14, and customers can also add a shot of booze or choose from an array of creative cocktails.
The full menus for the Chicago and Naperville locations can be found on the JoJo’s Shake Bar website.
The Detroit location would have the capacity for about 150 guests, according to Crain’s.
Crain’s reports plans for permits and construction were submitted to the city in late December.
The report says plans call for a main bar and pastry bar and a graphic wall would feature the Detroit skyline, while booths would include drawings of Detroit legends such as Barry Sanders.
