KALAMAZOO (WWJ) -- Three minors are expected to face multiple charges after allegedly stealing two vehicles and leading police on several chases in Kalamazoo on Tuesday.

It all began According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, a vehicle was stolen near Stadium Drive and 6th Street around 2:30 p.m.

When officers tried to approach the people in the vehicle, they fled the scene at a high rate of speed, the sheriff’s office said; however, deputies did not start a chase.

MLive reported that Michigan State Police troopers later saw the vehicle on I-94 near Portage Road and tried to pull the car over at Sprinkle Road.

The driver fled and MSP pursued the car, disabling the vehicle on Kilgore Road at Portage Road, said the Sheriff's Office.

The chase didn't end there, though.

The three juveniles ran toward I-94, where they stole a construction truck from a project along the freeway, police said.

While trying to flee in the truck, police said they hit multiple vehicles.

The truck was spotted by deputies at Portage Road and Winters Drive and tried to stop it. However, they fled again.

Now, the three minors are at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home and are expected to face multiple charges.
