MONROE TWP. (WWJ) -- Three little kids are in trouble with the law after allegedly breaking into a business and robbing several stores in Monroe Township.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said that on Friday at 8:40 p.m., the boys -- ages 8, 11 and 13 -- triggered an alarm at a business on S. Telegraph Road. When a deputy arrived, the young suspects attempted to flee.
Two of the kids tried to flee on dirt bikes just stolen from the business.
Police said as the two were taken into custody a third juvenile suspect was arrested after they attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle. This car was later discovered to be stolen out of Toledo, Ohio and was used by the suspects to ram the building's overhead bay doors to get inside.
One suspect also appeared to have a pistol in his waistline, but it was later determined to be a CO2 BB gun.
Additional investigation revealed that the suspects used the stolen vehicle to rob other stores across the county, including Walmart, Meijer and Cabelas. The stolen items were found in the car.
The investigation is ongoing.
The case has been turned over to the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office for charges. If anyone has additional information, please call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
