Warren (WWJ) -- A carjacking suspect in Warren was arrested on Sunday night, but not before driving across several front lawns and crashing into two police cars.

Around 11 p.m. at the Valero Gas Station on 13 Mile Rd. in Warren, 55-year-old Robert Lee Bartolomucci threw a woman to the ground and wrestled her keys out of her hand before he stole her car, according to Warren police.
Police found him a few miles away by tracking him through OnStar, but when authorities got near, he drove at a patrol car and hit it, before driving across multiple front yards and hitting a vehicle parked in a driveway.
The suspect then drove to the area of 11 Mile and Schoenherr, where he crashed into another Warren PD car before losing control of the stolen vehicle -- he was then taken into custody, authorities said.
Bartolomucci, who police refer to as a "career criminal" is a white male resident of Warren that has a lengthy criminal history including robbery, fleeing and eluding and resisting and obstructing police.
Bartolomucci on Monday was charged with carjacking, fleeing and eluding, assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting and obstructing police and driving with a suspended license.
The carjacking charge is a felony that carries a punishment of up to life in prison.
Bartolomucci's bond was set at $1 million. He is due back in 37th District Court in Warren on Dec. 9.
