CHESTERFIELD TWP., Mich. (WWJ) – A man is facing charges for allegedly shooting a longtime friend on Christmas Day after an argument.
Alphonse Grzelakowski could face up to life in prison for the alleged shooting, which took place in a 43-year-old Chesterfield Township man’s backyard on Saturday evening.
Grzelakowski was arraigned on charges of assault with intent to murder, felony firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon. He’s being held on $250,000 bond at the Macomb County Jail.
Chesterfield Township police say they began investigating the shooting Sunday afternoon after the victim, whose name has not been released, went to an area hospital seeking medical attention for his wounds.

Authorities say the Grzelakowski and the victim got into an argument in the backyard of the home in the area of Cotton and Donner Roads. The victim was shot three times and suffered superficial wounds to his arm and leg.
Grzelakowski allegedly fled the home and was tracked down at his brother’s house in Roseville, thanks to his GPS tether he was wearing for parole restrictions. He was arrested without incident and could face up to live in prison if convicted.
