
ROYAL OAK TWP. (WWJ) - A Metro Detroit man is behind bars on a $2 million bond after he was arraigned on charges of sexually abusing a 6-year-old child in Royal Oak Township, authorities said on Friday.
Carlton Payton, 42, was charged by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for sexual abuse after state police accuse him of inappropriately touching and taking photos of a young child on June 15.
Payton was charged with the following counts:
• 1 count of Child Sexually Abusive Activity - Aggrevated
• 3 counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity
• 3 counts of using a computer to commit a crime
• 1 count of Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree.
Payton is behind bars on a $2 million cash bond.
