DETROIT (WWJ) – A man is in custody after he was caught on camera setting fire to a Detroit gas station early Tuesday morning.

Wild video from the Project Green Light location shows the man open the door, throw a bucket of gas inside the building and light it on fire, before leaving the area.

Police officials say it happened shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Fort Street, between Trumbull and Rosa Parks.

Officials did not release the suspect’s name, but said he was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

A possible motive in the case was not disclosed.

Police did not say whether anyone was injured in the incident or reveal the extent of the damage inside the business.

“Great work by our arson investigators who tracked down the suspect, leading to an arrest in this case,” police officials said on Twitter.
