
DETROIT (WWJ) - A 30-year-old Detroit man has been charged in the theft of a Merle French Bulldog at gunpoint last Saturday.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Damario Lipsey in the armed robbery of a 27-year-old Detroit man who was walking his dog around 12 p.m. in the area of Greenfield Road and Pilgrim Street on the city's west side.
Lipsey is said to have walked up to the victim and to have robbed him at gunpoint of money and his rare breed Frenchie before fleeing the scene.
Detroit Police Cpl. Dan Donakowski told WWJ Newsradio 950 in a Wednesday morning update that the stolen dog was found uninjured while the suspect in the case was arrested.
The Prosecutor's Office said Friday that Lipsey has been charged with one count of Armed Robbery. He was arraigned Thursday afternoon in 36th District Court and given a $250,000 cash bond.
A bond re-determination hearing is scheduled for August 7 at 9 a.m. before Judge William McConico.
The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 11 at 8:30 a.m. and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 18 at 8:45 a.m. before Judge Ronald Giles.
