(WWJ) An Oakland County man plans to start a college fund for his children after winning a $1.43 million jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the winning Lotto 47 numbers drawn Jan. 19: 07-12-19-30-43-47. He bought his winning ticket at the Shell gas station, located at 3950 East 10 Mile Rd., at Ryan Rd., in Warren.

“I purchase a Lotto 47 ticket every time I stop for gas,” said the 45-year-old player. “I was checking the numbers the day after the drawing when I realized I’d matched all of them. An overwhelming feeling came over me and I felt like I was dreaming.”

An unusual note about this win: This was the second big winning ticket purchased in Warren in a short period of time.

Earlier this week it was announced that a 74-year-old Macomb County man won $4 million on a scratch-off ticket he bought at Smoker's Outlet of Warren, at 31900 Ryan Rd.

The latest lucky player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $992,000 rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to start a college fund for his children and then save the remainder.

“It still feels like this is all a dream, I am truly blessed,” he said.

Each Lotto 47 play is $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and that grows until someone wins it. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Lotto 47 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing. Get more info here.
