MSP: Man followed after leaving party, shot on the Lodge in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – Michigan State Police are searching for a suspect after an early-morning freeway shooting in Detroit.

MSP officials say it unfolded shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a man left a party on Outer Drive near Sinai-Grace hospital.

When the man left the party, he noticed a crossover vehicle was following him. The man got on the southbound John C. L:odge Freeway at Meyers and when he got into the left lane, someone in the other vehicle began shooting at him near Wyoming.

The victim’s vehicle was hit several times and the man was struck in the right side twice, MSP officials said.

The victim, whose name and age weren’t released, went to Detroit Receiving Hospital. At last check, he was in stable condition.

Authorities did not identify a possible motive in the shooting.

MSP towed the victim’s vehicle for processing.

Authorities are still investigating the shooting. It is not clear whether police have identified any suspects.
