(WWJ) An 81-year-old man was arrested in Michigan's Thumb region for the alleged sexual assault of a postal worker.
Michigan State Police (MSP) Sergeant assigned to the Caro Post responded to the reported incident at a U.S. Post Office in Fairgrove, a Village in Tuscola County, Wednesday morning.
Police said a preliminary investigation found that the suspect, a Fairgrove resident, reached across the counter and groped a 25-year-old female postal worker’s chest.
The suspect was found at his home and confessed to the incident, MSP said.
He was lodged at the Tuscola County Jail on a single charge of Criminal Sexual Contact, 4th degree.
MSP was assisted by US Postal Inspectors with this investigation.
State police said, in additional to the state charge, the man could also face federal prosecution. His name was not immediately released.
