DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department says a man they were looking for in connection with a deadly double shooting on the city's east side has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

On Thursday, police sent an update saying it turned out that person named had no involvement in the crime.

According to police, the shooter entered the facility, but was told to leave because he didn't live there. He later returned with a gun and allegedly shot two security guards.

The guard who lost his life is identified as Diante Davis. The other shooting victim is expected to survive, police said.

Thursday afternoon, police said they are continuing to investigate the homicide and ask anyone who can identify the shooter, or who knows anything about the crime to come forward.

The shooter should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone with information should call Detroit police at 313-596-2200, or dial 911.
