Cops: Man in black Detroit Tigers hat who robbed Canton pharmacy at gunpoint demanded drugs, money

Police in Canton are on the hunt for a suspect they accuse of holding up a local pharmacy clerk at gunpoint and demanding pills and cash.

CANTON (WWJ) - Police in Canton are on the hunt for a suspect they accuse of holding up a local pharmacy clerk at gunpoint and demanding pills and cash.

The Canton Police Department said in a press release on Wednesday they're investigating the armed robbery after a man walked into Dez Pharmacy at 6624 N. Canton Center Road on Saturday June 25 around 1:30 p.m. and pointed a gun at the clerk.

The man told the employee he wanted prescription drugs and money before leaving the store.

Police described the suspect as a black male apporximently 18 to early 20s in age. He was captured on surveillance video wearing a white surgical mask, a black Detroit Tigers hat, red polo-style shirt and dark wash jeans.

Police said the suspect headed south after he left the pharmacy and is believed to have walked to a silver SUV that was parked in a nearby neighborhood.

No customers were in the store at the time of the incident, police said, and the clerk was not injured.

The department is not releasing further information pending their investigation.
