(WWJ) -- During the dark and early morning hours on Wednesday, several drivers on I-94 near Allen Park and Taylor ended up with flat tires due to metal debris scattered on the road.

Near Pelham Street on eastbound I-94, at least a half dozen cars were off to the side of the road waiting for tow trucks and accessing the costly damage to their vehicles.

One of the drivers, Dwhyte Ashman from Taylor, told WWJ’s Mike Campbell that he’s not sure what he hit, but he knows what he'll be expecting to pay for repairs.

The metal debris was hit hard enough to rip the aluminum off of Ashman’s wheel on his infinity. Now he’s looking at having to replace the tire, the airbag and the rim that he said cost him a $1,000.
