(WWJ) -- Gas prices in Michigan are down a bit compared to last week.

Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $3.13 per gallon -- that's 4 cents less than last week.

Triple A warns the stability at the pump might not last for long. Rising crude oil prices could mean higher prices later this month.

“Michigan motorists were finally able to see some stability at the pump after double-digit increases,” said Adrienne Woodland, AAA spokesperson. "Despite the slight decrease, if crude oil prices continue to rise, drivers could see higher gas prices heading into Independence Day."

Compared to last week, Metro Detroit’s average daily gas price also decreased slightly, with a current average that’s now at $3.18 per gallon. That’s 1 cent less than last week’s average and $1.03 more than this same time last year.

The most expensive gas is in Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Marquette, while the least expensive gas is in Traverse City, Benton Harbor and Lansing.
