ROSCOMMON COUNTY -- A northern Michigan woman who was killed in an apparent murder-suicide reportedly filed for protection from her husband just days before her death.
Tirany Savage filed for a personal protection order against Eugene Savage in the 34th Circuit Court on June 24, according to court documents obtained by WPBN.
Tirany wrote a note in the protection request, saying that he had mental health issues and she's concerned because he recently purchased a firearm.
“He keeps saying he is going to blow his brains out and I do not want my safety or my son’s safety in jeopardy," Tirany wrote.
WPBN reported the personal protection order was denied by a judge.
The judge wrote in the PPO document that there was "insufficient evidence" of immediate and irreparable injury, loss or damage. The judge added that Tirany could request a restraining order in a divorce case.
So on July 7, Tirany filed for divorce.
But just three days later, Tirany was killed.
According to a press release from Roscommon County Undersheriff Ben Lowe, authorities were dispatched to a home in Roscommon Township at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, where they found four bodies.
According to the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office, Tirany Lee Savage, 35, Tirany's son Dayton Cowdrey, 13, Tirany's mother Kim Lynnette Ebright, 58, and Bo Eugene Savage, 35, were found dead at the home with apparent gunshot wounds.
