(WWJ) -- It's a truly rare event for the Michigan lottery.

This doesn't happen too often, if ever. Tuesday's mid-day daily 3 was 9-9-9, while the evening's drawing was 0-0-0.

Michigan Lottery Spokesman Jake Harris told WWJ's Beth Fisher that he's seen the same triple digits before, but never in two drawings on the same day.

The last time 0-0-0 was drawn was in 2020 and the last time 9-9-9 was drawn was in 2019.

"They feel like those are lucky -- to play those triple digit numbers -- so we do have folks that play those pretty regularly."

And there were a lot of those players on Tuesday, with 9,600 winners.

The top prize was at about $500, with a total payout of $4 million.
