CADILLAC, Mich. (WWJ) – A Michigan man is in trouble with the law for what he thought was a sneaky trick at a Walmart.
Domenic Dale-Ivan Auger of Lake City, Mich., has been charged with first-degree retail fraud as a habitual offender after getting caught trying to pull a “fast one,” multiple times, according to Michigan State Police.
MSP says Auger was seen on surveillance camera inside a Cadillac Walmart last August purchasing nearly $500 worth of merchandise and exiting the store.
Auger then returned with the receipt, grabbed the exact same items and left without paying, according to MSP.
MSP says Auger had done the exact same thing two other times, stealing more than $1,400 worth of merchandise in total.
He was arrested on Wednesday and arraigned Thursday in Wexford County.
His bond was set at $1,000 cash surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on April 12.
