MSP investigating 'suspicious' death of 2-month-old found not breathing at Royal Oak Twp. hotel

ROYAL OAK TWP., Mich. (WWJ) – Michigan State Police are investigating what they’re calling a “suspicious infant death” at a hotel in Royal Oak Township Wednesday Morning.

Troopers and EMS were called to the Baymont Inn on 8 Mile Road between Meyers and Wyoming shortly before 10 a.m. on the report of a 2-month-old baby that wasn’t breathing.

Troopers arrived before EMS and began CPR, MSP officials said.

Police escorted the ambulance to a hospital in Southfield, where the baby was pronounced dead on arrival.

A cause of death has not yet been determined. Authorities have not released any information about the infant’s parents or any circumstances surrounding the death.

Detectives are investigating to determine whether any foul play was involved in the incident.
