STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WWJ) -- Two murder suspects are in custody following a brief chase with Michigan State Police Thursday morning.
An MSP surveillance team was assisting the Detroit Homicide Task Force in looking for the suspects in the area of Schoenherr and 14 Mile Roads when they located the suspects inside an apartment, with the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Marked MSP units and members of the Emergency Support Team arrived to the scene in an attempt to make contact with the suspects. That’s when the surveillance team watched the suspects exit the apartment, enter the vehicle and attempt to leave the complex.
Troopers from the Emergency Support Team attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspects fled the scene, driving over a large, grassy hill through the corner of the complex. The suspect vehicle fled the area southbound on Schoenherr with troopers in pursuit.
Troopers ultimately used the PIT maneuver to stop the suspects south of the intersection of 14 Mile and Schoenherr.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, with no reported injuries. No information has been released about either suspect.
MSP did not immediately disclose any details about the alleged murder, but said that investigation is still ongoing.
Authorities say there was little damage to the patrol car and damage to the grassy area of the apartment complex.
