Commerce Township (WWJ) A longtime member of the Novi public school community has been identified as the victim of a grisly murder in Commerce Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said Tatiana Vuichard, 59, was killed at her home Monday evening. An autopsy confirms she died from “multiple slashing wounds to the neck and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.”

The Sheriff’s Office told WWJ deputies responded to a welfare check at a home on Chesapeake Circle (4100 block) in the area of W. Maple and Beck around 11 a.m. Monday. They found Vuichard deceased on the bathroom floor.

Her colleagues had called deputies when she did not show up for work.

Her husband, 61, was taken into custody. He is being held at the Oakland County Jail. Charges will be released Wednesday.

Vuichard had been with the Novi Community School District for 30 years and currently worked as an administrative assistant.
