ALPENA (WWJ) -- A Northern Michigan man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he was caught with more than 100 images of child pornography.
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force on Tuesday announced the criminal case against 59-year-old Ricky Allen Clewley of Alpena.
According to MSP, Clewley was arrested following an investigation which began when a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Clewleys home was then searched, police said, and multiple electronic devices were seized.
Clewley was arraigned in 88th Judicial District Court Feb. 2 on four counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material - involving more than 100 images of child sexually abusive material, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
If convicted he faces up to 10 years in prison for each count of aggravated possession, plus additional prison time for the computer crime.
The MSP ICAC Task Force was assisted by the MSP Alpena Post, and the MSP Canine Team.
With cases like this one in mind, MSP wants to remind parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet.
