PONTIAC (WWJ) - A 39-year-old Pontiac woman was charged with several felonies after police say she allegedly stabbed multiple people, including at 15-year-old, at a house party in Pontiac.
As reported by The Oakland Press, Pontiac resident and mother of nine, Candis Wright-McDonald, was arraigned on Wednesday on four counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder for the June 25 incident that left four people injured.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said Wright-McDonald “came over and began to stab people," at a home in the 700 block of Newman Lane.
When deputies were dispatched to the home, they came across an SUV en route that flashed its lights at police. OCSO said two victims were found inside the vehicle with stab wounds.
One victim, a 36-year-old Pontiac woman, was stabbed twice in the chest, the sheriff's office said to WDIV. She was transported to a local hospital.
The other victim, a 36-year-old Detroit man, sustained two stab wounds to his chest and upper right back. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, treated and released, police confirmed.
Later on, deputies located a 15-year-old Pontiac boy who was stabbed in the abdomen and a 21-year-old Pontiac woman who sustained a wound to her chest.
Police said both were taken to the hospital.
After speaking with witnesses, deputies learned the a neighbor came over to a party being held at the home and began to attack people, An initial search for the suspect turned up empty, police said.
Wright-McDonald was later identified by police and she was arrested on Aug. 2 at a gas station of Orchard Lake and Old Telegraph.
At her arraignment, The Oakland Press reported Wright-McDonald did not have a history of violence and is a mother to nine children.
A judge denied Wright-McDonald bond over safety concerns for the public and for Wright-McDonald over her stress and how it manifests.
Wright-McDonald is due back in court Aug. 16 for a probable cause conference.
Police said that all the victims hurt in the alleged stabbing have been released from the hospital.
