DETROIT (WWJ) -- Union Assembly, a new restaurant along Woodward avenue across from Comerica Park in downtown Detroit, is hoping to open its doors next month and is looking for people to join their team.
The newest restaurant from Union Joints -- the restaurant group that runs the likes of Vinsetta Garage and Clarkston Union -- will span two floors in the new Little Caesars world headquarters building at Woodward and Columbia.
It will hold up to 500 guests across more than 14,000 square-feet, featuring a second-floor lounge, an indoor/outdoor bar and three-season terrace that overlooks Woodward and the ballpark.
Union Assembly will be holding job fairs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, Aug. 7-9. Officials say they’re looking to hire for all positions, from front-of-the-house to the kitchen, with no experience necessary.
The new joint’s menu has been “built around an evolved comfort food with inventive and elevated ingredients,” and will have offerings for “full-tilt dinner” or quick game-day snacks. Those items include “the Most Macked-Mac & Cheese” and deck-fired Detroit style pies.
Chef Mara Jaffe and chef de cuisine Philip Vernier, will both return to Michigan after spending time in various kitchens across the country to bring yet another exciting option to downtown.
“The always unpretentious, slightly throwback and honest homey cooking that Joints is known for is elevated a few notches—and influenced with fresh vegetarian and gluten free options—under the direction of Chefs Jaffe and Vernier,” Union Joints said in a press release.
