NOVI, Mich. (WWJ) -- Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man they say is vulnerable after going missing from a group home Thursday morning.
The Novi Police Department says 50-year-old Hans Brinkman was reported missing from his group home at 24243 Jamestowne Road around 9 a.m. Thursday.
Brinkman, is diagnosed with a mental illness, left to go on his daily morning walk, but did not return back to the home.
Police say Brinkman is paranoid schizophrenic and believes he has a job waiting for him in New York. He is currently taking medications and is not a threat to anyone. He has no weapons and has not been assaultive in the past, according police.
Brinkman is described as about 5-foot-10, 155 lbs., with hazel eyes. He is bald. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve grey Michigan shirt, navy blue Adidas sweatpants, with gray and silver gym shoes.
