(WWJ) The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says a 6-year-old Pontiac boy reported missing last week has been safely recovered.
Officials said Jace Jamison was taken by his biological mother, 22-year-old DaJanaye Jamison, who does not have legal custody.
Investigators were concerned that the pair might be with 24-year-old Dorian Glenn. He is believed to be the boy's father, according to the sheriff's office, but spent time in jail for abusing him he was only 18 months old.
Officials were worried about the boy's safety, due to Glenn's history, and asked for tips from the public to help find the child.
Over the weekend, the sheriff's office said deputies were able to get ahold of DaJanaye Jamison by phone.
She stated that the Jace was with her, that he was OK, and that they would go to the Pontiac Substation and meet with deputies.
The mother and child arrived at the substation late Saturday night, officials said. The child was unharmed, according to the sheriff's office, and has since been reunited with his grandmother, who has full custodial rights.
The mother was released at the scene, pending further investigation. It's unclear if she may face charges.
