Detroit police have a person in custody after they scaled the Renaissance Center on Sunday

DETROIT (WWJ) – A person is in custody after climbing the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit on Sunday.

Detroit police officials said around 3:30 p.m. someone had been taken into custody after they scaled the building “a short time ago.” It was not immediately clear when the incident happened.

Officials have not released any information about the person in custody.

It was not clear what prompted the person to make the climb, or how they did it. Police were talking to the person to determine a motive.

Authorities did not say whether that person will face any charges.
