(WWJ) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with the abduction of a 9-year-old Farmington Hills girl who was sexually assaulted after being taken to Detroit.
A tweet from Detroit police says they are currently “working with our law enforcement partners to bring additional information on this arrest shortly.”

Few other details have been released at this time.
Police say the girl left her home in Farmington Hills on Sunday, walked for approximately two hours, and became lost.
The suspect approached her in the area of 8 Mile Rd. and Grand River in a light-colored Jeep Renegade and asked if she needed help.

She then got into his car and realized he was driving in the wrong direction, but could not escape.
According to authorities, the suspect took the child to an “unknown home” in Detroit where he assaulted her. She was able to get away from the home after her attacker left the room, police said.
A Good Samaritan saw the child as she was walking away, and called 911.
Detroit Police contacted Farmington Hills officers — who had filed a missing report on the girl. She was taken to Children’s Hospital.
The FBI has since joined Detroit and Farmington Hills police in the investigation.
