TRAVERSE CITY (WWJ) – Michigan State Police say two women who were caught on camera stealing an MSP recruiting tent have been identified.

MSP officials say the incident happened shortly after midnight on the Fourth of July in Traverse City.

The tent had been set up during the National Cherry Festival, where MSP was helping with security, as well as recruiting new members.

On Wednesday MSP officials were asking for the public’s help in identifying the women, who were seen on security cameras picking up the tent and carrying it away.

MSP officials on Thursday said the women had been identified after they received numerous calls and tips.

It was not clear whether the women had been arrested or if they’ll be facing charges. Police did not immediately release their names or ages.

“We appreciate your support,” MSP said in a tweet.
