LEE TWP., Mich. (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after an apparent murder-suicide in West Michigan over the weekend.
Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Lee Township – about 60 miles south of Grand Rapids – around 12:30 p.m. Saturday after a family member made a disturbing discovery.
The sheriff’s office said a man called 9-1-1 after going to the home to check on family members inside. When he didn’t get a response at the door, he looked in the windows and saw his niece unresponsive in a bedroom.
When authorities showed up they found 35-year-old Cindy Clouse, 34-year-old Roger Hagger and their two children shot to death. The children were ages 10 and 13, according to the sheriff’s office.
While the investigation is still ongoing, officials say it appears Hagger shot his family members before turning the gun on himself.
Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive in the case.
Police are asking anyone with information contact the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office at 269-673-0500, or Silent Observer.
