ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after a reported shooting at a hotel in Royal Oak Township Saturday morning.
Michigan State Police say they received calls of shots fired at the Baymont Inn, in the 11000 block of Eight Mile Road, near Meyers Road, shortly after 10 a.m.
Authorities said they found no victim at the hotel and found several guns on suspects who were not believed to be linked to the initial investigation.
MSP were called to the same hotel last June after two people were shot, one of which was killed.
Reports said the shooting happened in the area of rooms 405-408 and when troopers arrived to the scene, they spoke with the caller, who was in room 405.
Troopers found a .380 shell casing in the area of those rooms, which were all found to be unoccupied. While troopers were writing a search warrant for rooms 407 and 408, they also determined room 426 was involved in the incident.

While the investigation was ongoing, MSP says the four occupants of room 408 returned and two of the occupants were found to be carrying concealed weapons, both 9mm pistols.
After serving the search warrant, MSP says they found two “AR style pistols,” a 9mm and a .556.
Police also searched the vehicle affiliated with room 408 and found another 9mm pistol, which had been reported stolen out of Indiana.
Police say a further investigation revealed the four occupants of room 408 were not part of the initial investigation.
Several search warrants were conducted and police found no additional evidence in regard to the shooting. MSP says troopers are still looking for the victim of the originally reported shooting and determining whether the other weapons were stolen.
The investigation is still ongoing and police are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call 248-584-5740 or leave a tip on the MSP mobile app.
