DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are investigating a domestic violence case after someone fired shots at a woman on the Lodge Freeway early Thursday morning.

At around 5 a.m., the woman called Detroit Police and said someone shot at her as she was driving in the northbound lanes of The Lodge (M-10) near Warren Ave.

She went to a casino to try and file a report but was told to call the Michigan State Police. Troopers were then able to find the woman and talk with her.

MSP said this is a case of domestic violence; not just a random incident.

It's unclear at this time if there were any injuries.

Troopers shut down southbound M-10 at I-94 and then at 7 Mile Rd. to search for evidence with a K9 team, but all lanes have since reopened to traffic.

MSP did not immediately announced whether any bullet casings were found.
