Police seek suspects who carjacked man pumping gas in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) -- While pumping his gas in Detroit, a man was approached by two suspects who carjacked him.

The Detroit Police Department is now seeking information from the community regarding the incident that happened on Friday, June 17 at approximately 1 a.m. in the 15900 block of Schaefer.

Detroit police say a 23-year-old man was at one of the pumps at the gas station when he was approached by two male suspects.

One of them produced a weapon, demanded money and assaulted him.

As the victim began to run away, the suspects entered his silver 2014 Ford fusion and fled the scene, officials say.

Police say the victim’s vehicle was later recovered in the area of Monte Vista and Fenkell.
