(WWJ) -- Governor Gretchen Whitmer has taken a significant lead against five Republicans who will potentially go up against her in the November General Election, according to a new poll.
The poll from Target Insight seems to show GOP voters are still grappling with the aftermath of last week's Board of Canvasser's meeting that disqualified two frontrunners, Perry Johnson and James Craig, from the ballot.
Most voters are undecided on which of the remaining candidates they will back if Craig and Johnson can't get onto the ballot for the August primary.
The poll shows that 80% of Democrats and 57% of Independents give Whitmer an "excellent" or "good job" rating, compared to only 24% of Republicans.
Overall, 54% said of those polled said she was doing an "excellent" or "good job."
