BRIGHTON (WWJ)— The suspects in the attempted theft of an ATM from a bank in Brighton remain on the run.

Brighton Police said officers responded to the Chase Bank on Grand River near US-23 after an ATM alarm went off around 3:15 a.m. Memorial Day.

After arriving, officers found a “truck that had crashed into the guidewires of a power pole, and the ATM had been damaged,” according to a Brighton Police press release.

The investigation determined the truck was also stolen and was used in the attempted theft of the machine.

Police said the crashing of the truck into the guidewires knocked out power to the area for a brief time, but it has since been restored.

A description of the suspects has not been given.
