State regulators have announced the recall of "Covert Cups" — an edible marijuana product that comes in various flavors including Peanut Butter Cup, Strawberry & Cream and S'mores — that were processed and sold in Michigan.

The Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) has issued a health and safety bulletin recalling marijuana product processed by 3843 Euclid, LLC, a medical marijuana processor facility and an adult-use marijuana processor co-located on N. Euclid in Bay City, due to the use of "unapproved testing and sampling methods."

In April, the MRA says it performed a compliance check and found that only samples Cover Cups in yellow consumer packaging, and not clear, or silver consumer packaging, had been properly tested and approved.

MRS said affected packages were dispersed to many marijuana sales locations throughout Michigan — including in Detroit, Hamtramck, River Rouge and Walled Lake.

All recalled products will have a label that indicates the license number of the marijuana business that sold the marijuana product as well as tag number assigned to the product in the statewide monitoring system.

Consumers who have these products in their possession are urged to return them to the store where they were purchased for proper disposal. Provisioning centers are required must notify those who bought the products, and to display the recall notice for 30 days.

Consumers who have experienced symptoms after using these products should report their symptoms and product use to their doctor. Consumers are requested to report any adverse product reactions to the MRA via email: MRA-Enforcement@michigan.gov or via phone: 517-284-8599.

An MRA investigation is still ongoing and may result in additional future recalls.
