(WWJ) A cash reward of up to $2,500 is being offered to solve a murder from last summer Downriver.

Authorities say 48-year-old Christopher Triplett was shot by an unknown person at around 11:50 p.m. on July 12, 2020.

According to Crime Stoppers of Michigan, he was found dead the next morning behind the wheel of a 2020 brown or 2020 gold Chevy Malibu that was parked on Beechwood Street in River Rouge.

Now many months following the killing, there have been no arrests, and there are few clues in the case.

On Wednesday, several family of the victim's' members — including his father, his daughters and his fiancée — were set to hold a news conference pleading for tips from the public that could help bring his killer to justice.

Anyone who has any information regarding this crime is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587).

Remember: All those who call Crime Stoppers will remain 100% anonymous, and will not be required to speak to police, or to testify in court. Crime Stoppers does no wait for a conviction in a case, but pays out reward money when an arrest is made.
