Roseville man charged in wrong-way crash that killed 9-year-old boy on ATV

(WWJ) A Roseville man has been charged in a car vs. ATV crash that took the life of a 9-year old boy.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says 20-year-old Daveon Hardiman was driving a car in the wrong direction and speeding on Andover Street at East Lantz, near John R and State Fair, on Saturday afternoon when he hit Mai’Juan Calderin, who was riding a four-wheeler.

The child, a Detroit resident, was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

Hardiman was arrested and was scheduled to be arraigned in 36th District Court Monday afternoon on a felony charge of Reckless Driving Causing Death.

He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted as charged.
