ROYAL OAK TWP., Mich. (WWJ) – The search is on for a suspect who robbed an AutoZone store Saturday night along the border of Detroit and Royal Oak Township.
Michigan State Police say they got a call from an AutoZone employee around 7:45 p.m., reporting the store at 8888 W. 8 Mile Road had just been robbed.
The employee described the suspect as having their face covered and wearing a hat and gloves. It was not clear what the suspect took from the store.
Authorities say the suspect fled north from the rear door of the store. Police are working to review in-store video and were canvassing the area for surrounding surveillance video.
A police canine tracked the suspect heading north from the store, but turned back towards 8 Mile where the track ended, MSP said.
