TROY (WWJ) -- Drunken driving charges are expected against a Royal Oak woman who was found sleeping behind the wheel in Troy.

At around 4:45 a.m. last Saturday, Troy Police responded the area of Wattles and John R Road on a report of a vehicle off the roadway with its hazard lights flashing.

Officers arrived to find a 2014 Audi A6 on the north side of Wattles with a 32-year-old woman asleep in the driver's seat.

When police woke the driver up she told them she got lost on her way home.

After the woman failed a field sobriety test she submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .14% BAC, which is well over the legal limit of .08% for driving in Michigan.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Troy Police lock-up where she agreed to have her blood drawn by medical personnel.

Police said the case was turned over to the Detective Bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood results are returned.

The woman's name was not released.
