MONROE (WWJ) -- The search for a missing kayaker will continue in Monroe County today.
Members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office dive team, the U.S. Coast Guard and others plan to resume the effort to locate the person who went missing yesterday in the River Raisin.
Officials say a caller notified them around 6 p.m. on Thursday that a person had fallen out of a kayak into the river near River Raisin Marina & Campground in Monroe.
Divers used sonar technology to look for the victim, until severe weather conditions forced the search to be suspended.
An empty kayak was recovered at the scene, with no sign of the victim.
