Oakland County authorities search for Endangered Missing man who threatened 'suicide by cop'

(WWJ) An Endangered Missing advisory has been posted for a 22-year-old man who freed himself from restraints and fled from the care of a local hospital.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in their search for Dijimon Kelly of Southfield, reported as a runaway patient by Pontiac General Hospital on W. Huron St. on Thursday,

Officials say he was being transported from Ascension Hospital – Southfield to Pontiac General by ambulance at the time of his escape, and was last seen running southbound on Seminole St.

Kelly was under clinical petition by the Oakland County Probate Court for mental health problems, according t the sheriff's office

Officials said the young man suffers from impulse control issues and has made statements threatening “suicide by cop."

Deputies immediately searched the area surrounding Pontiac General Hospital with the assistance of a Sheriff’s Office K-9, without success. Deputies are continuing the search throughout Pontiac on Friday.
